For you consideration a 1987 Stratocaster Japan in Candy Apple Red.

This guitar has been upgraded with Buddha

“Texas” Pickups. Neck: 6K, Middle: 6.4K, and the Bridge 7K. Buddha is a well respected hand-wired pickup company known for subtlely tweeking the output of individual pickups within a group, as is the case with this guitar. The body cavity has been shielded. The body and neck are in very good condition. The jumbo frets show effectively no wear. The pickguard is a replacement three ply, likely came with the pickups. The neck on the Japanese guitars are known for comfort and speed no exception here, Like many of the Japanese strats of the era this guitar has a Kahler (USA) Spyder fulcrum locking tremolo and nut. Which is a very reliable option for a strat. It is equipped with Gotoh tuners.

Many will attest that Fender Japan with its outstanding workmanship saved Fender as Fender USA was in a quandary from 84-87. Fender Japan was making the guitars that people wanted at the time. While this guitar speaks 80-90s, the tasteful upgrades and condition make it a very versatile instrument for nearly any Stratocaster styled music. It has a cool spanky tone. Comes with a Knox gear case.

The guitar is a real stunner visually and the aftermarket pickups have killer tone. The Japanese fender product from this era are the sleeper of the vintage electric guitar market, and are climbing in value steadily.
