For your consideration a Gibson GA-7 Les Paul Jr" 1955 TV Model. When the student guitar of the same name was introduced, Gibson needed an amp for co-marketing. This amplifier differs by a single resistor at the imput jack from a Fender Champ of the period, although Gibson generally used higher fidelity components than Fender. Whatever a period champ can do so can the GA-7. The GA-7 is the big sister to the GA-5, same circuit but the much improved 10 inch speaker. There are far fewer of the GA-7 on the market making this one pretty desirable.
Why TV Model? It is covered in a gray patterned cloth with the appearance of early black and white TV static. It was thought this would make it harder to see on black and white TV. In addition there was a TV-yellow Les Paul Jr guitar, was it meant to be sold with this particular guitar? Which is truth and which is fiction?
The amp is cosmetically original but has had filter and other electrolytic cap and resistor replacements. A three pronge plug has been wired, the speaker is original. The original back plate had been lost to time. So, to complete the project reproduction cloth and a back were fabricated. It shows some wear but is in good condition.
If you own a vintage Les Paul Jr, TV model it should be coupled to its amp name sake.
