A call out to Greg a site visitor with help dating this guild.

For your consideration a 1970, Hoboken labeled (possible made in RI) Guild D25 bearing a OG281 serial number on the label and stamped onto the neck block.

The guild vinyl face plate supports this date. The vinyl face plates guild used commonly fail and previous attempt to repair it left this one at the point of no repair. We have the original vinyl face plate, unfortunately a repop vinyl faceplate for this guitar is not available. So a wooden mexican rosewood faceplate was fashions, finished and the guitar was relabeled. The neck was also reset 3-2026, it was time . The action is now 4.5/1000 B and 4/1000 T. The guitar was refretted with medium fretts. 3-2026 and polished to 8000.

This work has the guitar playing at its best and it is visually more appealing.

This all mahogany dreadnought is in very good updated condition. These guitar have an all mahogany tone but one that is augmented with X-bracing with a sweetens tone. These guitars are a vintage sleepers. The guitar appears to be all original other than the face plate.

It has a sound board passive pickup and sounds great amplified.
