For your consideration an original 1959 Guild T-100 Slim Jim in excellent condition, showing all the checking expected for a 65 year old guitar. We saved this one, a few more years and it may not have possible to keep it original. With that said, it is now stabilized for the long haul. Guild’s answer to the 330, at this vintage 1/3 to 1/2 the price.
I own a vintage 330 and id rather play the guild.
The Guild "Casper the Friendly Ghost" is visible from the F hole but as is common is unmarked with the model. Franz large single coil pickups are super warm sounding as good as any Gibson P-90. Turn it up on a tube amp and this guitar growls, but never gets away from you. The neck is extremely comfortable and fast. The Guild’s are wired with the pickup volumes nearest the player. The action is set like a good archtop B 5/64 and the treble 4/64. There is no obvious deflection of the top.
The Guild bindings from this period are prone to shrinking as is the case with this guitar, but it is all attached. where it belongs.
You have to play this one to truly understand the love affair the guild guy have with this guitar. The guitar is extremely resonant. You feel what you play against your body from the interior of the guitar.
Comes with a vintage hardshell case.
