For your consideration a 1945 Martin 0017.  This all mahagony guitar showcases the marvel that gave Martin its reputation in the flat top world.   The guitar has it bumps dings and cracks, to be expected after 80 years.  It has fret board wear in the cowboy region but plays cleanly.  All cracks have been repaired and the guitar is set up with extremely low action.   What makes this guitar special is its tone and sustain.  Its tone is well ballance and very warm and it rings on forever. The guitar is elxtremely light compared to modern version of this guitar and that speaks to Martin's powless at that time and the quality of the tone woods.  The guitar is dynamic and you can feel the reverberation of the guitar as you play it.
 
This guitar is a joy to play, effortless, requiring little finger pressure on the fret board.  No mistakes, this guitar was played and loved over the year, the great ones always are.   This guitar is hard to put down, dare I say we are not in hurry to see it go.
